As it is a culture to give new insights to students who have made a choice to join education institutions, African Rural University (ARU) has set aside 5 days of intensive student’s orientation.

 This new semester, the orientation exercise kicked off 8th to 12th of November, 2021 at URDT Centre for reflection hall in Kagadi town.

During the orientation week, students were introduced to the different departments and sections in ARU.

Among other things, they were also introduced to the vision, mission and philosophy of ARU, ICT services, health facilities available on campus, demonstration plots for students, foundation course and accommodation services.

They were also taken through the different services available for access by students. The Orientation week was presided over by the university’s vice chancellor Dr. Mwalimu Musheshe who said the university equips   students with knowledge and skills in rural development

Anthony Lwanga, the academic registrar of African Rural University, says normal lectures will begin immediately after the orientation week

The new students said they joined African Rural University in order to become specialists in transforming communities
