Call for Application for Academic year 2023/2024

   

The Academic Registrar of African Rural University (ARU) cordially invites applications for the August 2023/2024 intake. As a reputable value based all women university dedicated to promoting rural development and sustainable agriculture, we offer a range of accredited academic programs that  equips students with the necessary knowledge and skills to create transformative change in rural communities.

Accredited Academic Programs Offered:

  • Bachelor of Rural Development (BRD)
  • Bachelor of Science in Technologies for Rural Transformation (BSc TRT)
  • Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Agriculture (BSSA)
  • Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management (DESBM) .The Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management targets business operators   and upcoming entrepreneurs in all fields.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Development (PGDRD)

We are currently enrolling students for the following programs:

  1. Bachelor of Rural Development (BRD)
  2. This degree was accredited by Uganda’s National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). The BRD is a 4  year course i.e., three years of classroom study and one year field practice. Each year of classroom study is divided into two semesters of 17 weeks each. The Curriculum is designed in such a way that 60% of the Course content is covered under lectures while the 40% is covered under field practice.
  3. Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Agriculture (BSSA)

Admissions Requirements:

There are three entry schemes:

  • Holders of Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with a minimum of two Principal Passes [either in Arts or Science Subjects] obtained at the same sitting.
  • Holders of Diplomas [in either Science, humanities or Arts disciplines] from a recognized institution.
  • Holders of Certificates of Mature Age Examinations by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
