African Rural University hosted Prof. Brenda Bushell and Beverly Kracher, Ph.D on 4th November, 2019. The professors are a  potential for Masters fellowships for at least 2 of ARU graduates so that ARU may build its own teaching capacity. Below are the profiles of the visitors.

Brenda Bushell is a professor in the department of English Language Education, Communication and Cultures at the University of the Sacred Heart, Tokyo, Japan. Born and educated in Canada, she has taught in the disciplines of English Language as well as Gender and Society for over 30 years in Japan.

Over the past 15 years she has coordinated a student leadership project focusing on sustainable society for Japanese and Nepalese university students. She has published academic articles in a variety of subject areas, and is the author of six textbooks

Beverly Kracher, Ph.D. is the Executive Director and CEO of the Business Ethics Alliance whose purpose is to promote an environment in Omaha, Nebraska, USA where the discussion and practice of business ethics is encouraged and expected. She is a professor and holds the Robert B. Daugherty Endowed Chair in Business Ethics & Society at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She has published in several areas including ethical decision making, sexual harassment, online ethics, and community-level business ethics. Beverly is a presenter and speaker internationally in places like China, Japan, England, Ethiopia, Poland, Kuwait, among others, and is happy to now be in Uganda.

She serves on several boards including the Cary M. Maguire Center for Ethics in Financial Services at The American College, the Better Business Bureau and Firstar Fiber, recycling facility. Beverly was named one of the Top 100 Thought Leaders by Trust Across America. In 2013, she was named the Omaha Business Woman of the Year.
