African Rural University has held her 7th graduation ceremony which was done both virtual (zoom, YouTube) and physical at her main Campus Kagadi. It should be noted that this is the 2nd graduation ceremony this year after graduating 11 students in April 2021.
However , on 19th December 2021, 09 students were awarded a bachelor’s Degree in Rural Development. Speaking at the ceremony, The chancellor African Rural University Hon. Justice Ezekiel Muhanguzi informed the Graduands about the New initiatives launched by the government which include the Parish Development Model.
“You need to acquaint yourselves with the model in order to meaningfully engage and facilitate rural transformation.” He advised.
He further thanked the parents and guardians for enabling our daughters to study and graduate on schedule.
The Vice Chancellor Dr. Mwalimu Musheshe welcomed everyone to the 7th Graduation Ceremony and the 2nd ARU Virtual ceremony this year, following the 1st one held in April 2021. “We are grateful that we have withered the stormed of the Covid-19 Pandemic and the attendant challenges”. He commended.
He finally acknowledged the ARU partners-the Mustard Seed Trust, African Food and Peace Foundation, Carnegie Social Initiative, Uganda Development and Training Programme (URDT), RENU, UNESCO-Chair, IUCEA, PELUM, and most importantly the ARU staff for being part of the institution’s growth as we promote lifelong learning and as we implement the philosophy of ARU.
He also thanked the students for their contribution towards ARU’s revenue base in form of tuition and other fees.
